Blog Tour: The Summer of Serendipity by Ali McNamara

Today I am part of the blog tour for Ali McNamara’s new book The Summer of Serendipity. The Cover is so stunning! When I received a copy to review, I couldn’t wait to jump in… I am such a fan of all of Ali’s books and I knew this wasn’t going to disappoint me.

A bit about the book…
One summer, property seeker, Serendipity Parker finds herself on the beautiful west coast of Ireland, hunting for a home for a wealthy Irish client. But when she finds the perfect house in the small town of Ballykiltara, there’s a problem; nobody seems to know who owns it.
‘The Welcome House’ is a local legend. Its front door is always open for those in need of shelter, and there’s always a plentiful supply of food in the cupboards for the hungry or poor.
While Ren desperately tries to find the owner to see if she can negotiate a sale, she begins to delve deeper into the history and legends that surround the old house and the town. But for a woman who has always been focussed on her work, she’s remarkably distracted by Finn, the attractive manager of the local hotel.
But will she ever discover the real truth behind the mysterious ‘Welcome House’? Or will the house cast its magical spell over Ren and help her to find true happiness?

I loved reading this so much!! I couldn’t put the book down, It was great reading about Serendipity and her adventures with Kiki in Ballykiltara… I was so intrigued with the goings on with ‘The Welcome House’ it kept me guessing right until the very end who could be behind it.

My Favourite Character has to be Kiki as she is just bonkers but in a really good way! Kiki and Ren really make me giggle throughout the book! Reading about Ballykiltara really makes me want to book a holiday to Ireland!

If anyone has read Ali’s Breakfast at Darcy’s then you will read about some familiar charactersΒ in this new fab book! It was so great to see what them Characters are upto these days!

Ali’s writing style is so great, she always has her readers hooked with every chapter and she describes places/towns so amazing that you really do wish you could be there too! ( Even if it is a made up island hehe! ) I can never fault her books, Ali McNamara is one of my favourite authors for sure! I’m always recommending her to all my friends!

The Summer of Serendipity is definitely a perfect summer read this year!
I give it 4.5 stars for just being truly fabulous, full of adventure, laughter and some great characters too!

Ali McNamara attributes her over-active and very vivid imagination to one thing – being an only child. Time spent dreaming up adventures when she was young has left her with a head bursting with stories waiting to be told.

When stories she wrote for fun on Ronan Keating’s website became so popular they were sold as a fundraising project for his cancer awareness charity, Ali realised that not only was writing something she enjoyed doing, but something others enjoyed reading too. | @AliMcNamara

Book Review: The Little Flower Shop by The Sea by Ali McNamara

My Review

Firstly I want to thank the lovely ladies at Sphere for giving me the opportunity to review Ali’s Latest book! The cover is so beautiful and ever so summery! Will definitely stand out in bookshops.
I am always a huge fan of Ali’s books and I love every single book she has ever written so far but this book was just so amazing! I don’t know how much to express how I enjoyed every minute reading it.

We meet Poppy Carmichael, 30, never wanted to own a florist but when her grandmother leaves her her beloved flower shop on the beautiful Cornish coast, Poppy has no choice but to return to the pretty harbour town of St Felix where she spent much of her childhood…but Returning to St Felix brings back a lot of sad memories for Poppy. However she makes new friends such as local flower grower Jake, a young widowed father of two teenagers. Poppy soon begins to overcome her fears and discovers for herself what is so special about this little flower shop by the sea.

The Little Flower by the Sea is just a fantastic read, I was hooked from the first chapter. Reading about the beautiful Cornish coast St Felix makes me really want to visit. I loved reading about Poppy, I did feel little sorry for her at the beginning and I couldn’t figure why she wouldn’t like flowers until we find out later in the book which is ever so sad..
Poppy is certainly a mysterious character at first but when she settles back into life at St Felix she soon blossoms like a flower. Amber, Poppy’s Assistant/Friend sent by Poppy’s mum to help Poppy set up the Daisy Chain made me giggle all the time. She likes to read people’s auro’s and all that stuff but Poppy doesn’t like but they soon become friends.

There is always a mixture of characters in small little villages like St Felix, Some Characters your going to love but there’s one your going to detest and they are ever so sneaky! I was rooting for Poppy and Jake all the way through the book though, I wasn’t a fan of Ash I’m afraid..didn’t like him one bit. Definitely Team Jake!

Ali has once again written an amazing read that always catches her readers attention straight away so we cannot put her books down. Β The Little Flower Shop by the Sea gets 5 stars from me for being amazing with a beautiful coast to read and dream about but also being the perfect Summer read for 2015!
